Watch out for Patterns

Pattern Cutting as international “garment making language”

Our client was a start up fashion service provider who introduced the concept of using a pattern for garment production to their local fashion industry. Pattern cutting was introduced to a fashion community that had previously relied on traditional, non-industrialised garment-making methods. Local tailors and designers, skilled in hand-sewn techniques, were trained in professional pattern drafting, grading, and cutting, bridging the gap between craftsmanship and scalable production.

The project was as much about education as it was professional development, equipping the community with industry-standard skills while preserving their unique design heritage.

Our service included educational services, creating basic pattern blocks and showing practically how having patterns benefits the clients in terms of fitting, quality and professionalism when introducing their brand internationally.

By integrating precise pattern-making techniques, the artisans could produce garments with better fit and efficiency, opening doors to larger markets and sustainable business growth without losing their cultural identity.
